Chao Shen wins the 2nd place in 2016 IEEE Photonics Society Student and Young Professional Poster Competition. Congratulations! The poster competition is part of IPC 2016 (IEEE Photonics Conference).

Poster title: Energy efficient laser-based solution enabling high-speed white light communications

Abstract: LED-based visible light communications (VLC) have attracted increasing research interest, while its efficiency and speed were limited. Here, we present the experimental investigation utilizing multi-section, semipolar GaN laser diodes for a high-performance white light communication link. The advantages of small-footprint, high-speed, low-power-consumption for VLC functionality will be featured.
